The Dakota County Board maintains its seat in Hastings. Just minutes from the MSP International Airport and popular area attractions including: Mall of America, Minnesota Zoo, Nickelodeon Universe, Underwater Adventures, Minnesota Zoo, MN Science Museum, Lockheed Martin, United Health Care, Dakota County Technical College, and UMore Park - University of Minnesota Outreach, Research and Education Park. Dakota County is bound by I35 on the west, the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers on the north, and the state of Wisconsin on the east and offers lots of outdoor recreation with fishing, hunting, and more. Most of the Minnesota River bank is under the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge with fish, wildlife, and parkland managed collectively by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
